<p>Jose Cuervo, the world&#8217;s largest producer of Tequila, today introduced  &#8220;Cue the Cuervo,&#8221; a multi-tiered national marketing campaign that  illustrates how the legendary Tequila brand brings together all elements  of a night to take it from exciting to epic.  &#8221;Cue the Cuervo&#8221; is  inclusive of television, out-of-home, online, print and radio  advertising, public relations support, experiential marketing, a social  responsibility program and groundbreaking digital extensions. The  campaign will also be prominently featured at point-of-sale throughout  the country.</p>
<p>&#8220;Cue  the Cuervo&#8221; will be brought to life on Facebook, Cuervo.com and in bars  across the country through a number of consumer touch points.  Among the  unique digital extensions will be &#8220;Cue the Cab.&#8221;  Jose Cuervo is proud  to introduce this free iPhone application that leverages mobile  technology to provide consumers with a one touch option to request a  safe ride home.  The &#8220;Cue the Cab&#8221; program will synchronize the  consumer&#8217;s location with a cab company for pick-up at no additional cost  for the coordination, ensuring that the most legendary nights out end  with a safe, responsible ride home.</p>
<p>Consumers  online will be impressed with an innovative pre-roll video that synchs  with banner ads on the same web site.  The digital interaction allows  the Cuervo hero featured within the video to reach across screen and  grab shots of Jose Cuervo from the banner ad.  The Cuervo shots move  seamlessly from the ad and into the video where they are handed out to a  group of friends who then bond together with a shot of Cuervo.</p>
<p>&#8220;Jose  Cuervo has been a category leader in quality and innovation since  creating the tequila industry more than two-and-a-half centuries ago,  and &#8216;Cue the Cuervo&#8217; pushes the envelope in marketing quality and  innovation,&#8221; said Paul Clarke, Jose  Cuervo Brand Director, Diageo. &#8220;The campaign reminds consumers that Jose  Cuervo is the one element that can bring the night together, and it  does so in a compelling, interactive manner.&#8221;</p>
<p>The  campaign artwork for out-of-home advertising and point-of-sale materials  will keep the brand name front and center, calling out that &#8220;Cue&#8221; is  embedded within the word &#8220;Cuervo,&#8221; just as Jose Cuervo is often the one  constant embedded within most extraordinary nights out with friends.</p>
<p>Consumers  can also tune in for the campaign&#8217;s two leading 30-second television  spots, &#8220;Bar&#8221; and &#8220;Apartment.&#8221;  These commercials will &#8216;Cue&#8217; in all of  the mundane elements of a scene for a night out one by one – the tables,  the chairs, the kitschy atmosphere, the locals or party guests, and the  girls – and then promptly &#8216;Cue&#8217; in the drink that brings it all  together, taking the night from ordinary to legendary.  The spots will  air on cable networks including ESPN, HBO and FX and on sites including  Break.com, FunnyorDie.com, ESPN.com, Deadspin.com and FoxSports.com.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2>Intersect Beverages’ products Regional Tequila and  Azuñia Tequila receive top awards at the 2010 Spirits of Mexico Tasting  Competition.</h2>
<p>Intersect Beverage is proud to announce their recent success at the  4th Annual Spirits of Mexico Tasting Competition, presented by The  Polished Palate. All of the premium tequila entered into the competition  by Intersect Beverage received award-winning recognition. Their  Regional Tequila was awarded the highest award, the Best of Category for  Blanco, Silver and Plata, the Tequila Anejo Gold Award, and the Tequila  Reposado Silver Award.  Their second brand Azunia Tequila, received the  Tequila Gold Awards: Blanco, Silver, Plata, the Tequila Reposado Bronze  Award and the Tequila Anejo Bronze Award.</p>
<p>This annual event held August 16th at the Best Western Hacienda Hotel  in Old Town San Diego, featured over 100 different brands of tequila.  The competition was co-hosted by Jack Robertiello, creator of Drinks Ink  and past editor of Cheer’s Magazine, and Robert Plotkin, a respected  beverage industry author and founder of Bar Media. The judging panel  consisted of 12 accredited liquor and tequila experts from across the  United States and Mexico. Among the judges was second year participant  Mario Marquez, the first certified Tequilier Ambassadeur in the US,  who’s passion for tequila has led him to study at over 17 distilleries.  The panel also welcomed Junior Merino, a tequila connoisseur and  mixologist whose cocktail creations have won him awards and mentions  throughout major print and online media outlets such as the New York  Times, Women’s Wear Daily and Gourmet Magazine. Merino has acted as a  judge for Spirits of Mexico Tasting since its inception. Dori Bryant,  President of Polished Palate LLC, stated “The tasting panel was made up  of a jury of peers, making it especially hard for competitors. I was  very impressed with Intersect Beverage, as all expressions of Azunia and  Regional Tequilas swept the 2010 SOM Tasting Competition, garnering 7  Awards including 3 Golds and a Best of Category for Regional Blanco.“</p>

<p>The company said today (25 August) that its UK distributor, <a href="http://www.just-drinks.com/companies/maxxium_id41">Maxxium</a> UK, has been running a competition with body art and tattoo magazine  Skin Deep to design a bottle for the Reposado variant. The competition  to create the bottle invited the body art community to come up with a  tattoo-inspired design that “conveyed the authenticity” of the brand, <a href="http://www.just-drinks.com/companies/maxxium_id41">Maxxium</a> said.</p>
<p>The winning artist (Andi Hopgood) bagged a feature interview in the August issue  of Skin Deep to showcase his tattoo talents as well as £3,000 cash to  spend. Twenty runners up also received a bottle of 100% agave HORNITOS tequila to savour.</p>

<p>Hornitos will subsequently launch 500 limited edition bottles  exclusively in the UK this autumn. The bottle will be available to pour  in selected Tequila bars across the country.</p>

<p>&#8220;Tequila Is Liberty&#8221; was created by The Martin Agency and directed by 901 Silver Tequila CEO and founder, Justin Timberlake, who is making his directorial debut. The campaign was shot at the Standard Hotel in Los Angeles in addition to other miscellaneous Los Angeles locations.</p>
<p>The spots will run  online and on video networks, first breaking in late-July in the U.S.,  followed by print ads in September and then television in spring of  2011. &#8220;Tequila Is Liberty&#8221; will be supported at launch with a heavy  public relations and digital campaign to drive trade and consumer  awareness. <p>Registration is now open for the Second World International Tequila        Conference (WITC), TequilaTours.com announced today. The  conference will        be held in Guadalajara, Mexico and presented in English, offering        industry professionals and tequila aficionados an up-close look at  the        tequila industry, its culture, trends, and innovators. The  conference        will offer sessions on production, tasting and flavor profiles,        marketing and tequila-bar building.</p>
<p>This conference was specially developed to offer educational and        networking opportunities to spirits industry professionals,        international investors, brand developers, bar and restaurant  managers,        importers, distributors, researchers, journalists, and individuals         interested in learning about the tequila industry in-depth.</p>

<p>The &#8220;Patron Margarita,  Deconstructed,&#8221; is the first monthly challenge that will pit cocktail  lovers against each other. Utilizing the perfect margarita recipe as  inspiration, and three versions of the margarita created by top  mixologists, Patron asks visitors to re-imagine America&#8217;s number one  cocktail in their own, unique way.</p>
<p>&#8220;Patron has long been  the tequila of choice for discerning drinkers who value the entire drink  experience, from cocktail creation to composition and everything  thereafter,&#8221; says Jennifer Long, Brand  Director for Patron Spirits. &#8220;By leveraging a social networking site  like Facebook, we are able to provide our loyalists access to share and  build drink ideas. <p>Professional  mixologists will be tapped to provide expert advice, commentary and tips  on each submitted cocktail. The drink that receives the most votes at  the culmination of each challenge will become an official Patron  cocktail featured on the Patron website. Additionally, winners will  receive exclusively curated gifts from Patron to celebrate their  cocktail creations, and top participants will earn entry into exclusive  Patron events.</p>
<p>The Patron Cocktail Lab  will kick off with the &#8220;Patron Margarita, Deconstructed&#8221; challenge,  with additional challenges to follow including the &#8220;Patron Greenmarket&#8221;  challenge and the &#8220;Patron Salt Concierge&#8221; challenge.</p>

The Company’s launch is scheduled for early July.  Empire Merchants, a division of The Charmer Sunbelt Group has been appointed as distributor for New York and Young’s Market Company has been appointed as distributor for the state of California. “Tequila Avión is privileged to be represented by these two, industry recognized, best in class distributors,” said Ms. Fagnan.</p>
<p>&#8220;We at Empire Merchants are very excited to represent Tequila Avión,” said Lloyd Sobel, CEO of Empire Merchants.  “With its excellent packaging, fine liquid and a very exciting go-to-market strategy, Tequila Avión has the potential to be a real winner.”</p>

<p>Fagnan also announced the appointment of tequila industry veteran John Bilello to the position of Executive Vice President of Sales. Bilello joins Tequila Avión after having served most recently as Senior Vice President Global Sales &amp; Marketing for Tequila Milagro. Prior to Milagro, Bilello spent 18 years holding numerous senior positions at Seagram Co, Ltd.</p>

<p>&#8220;The Patron Margarita,  Deconstructed,&#8221; will kick off The Art of the Drink as the first  installment of the cocktail series. Utilizing the classic margarita  recipe as inspiration, Patron called upon three of the country&#8217;s most  creative cocktail minds to re-imagine the drink in their own, unique  way. Each drink in this installment embodies a new take on the perfect  balance of sour and sweet that has made the margarita America&#8217;s number  one cocktail.</p>
<p>&#8220;Because the different  expressions within the Patron portfolio are all carefully crafted, they  allow for a tremendous range of flavor profiles in drinks, making  cocktail possibilities endless,&#8221; says Jennifer  Long, Brand Director for Patron Spirits. &#8220;We are thrilled with  what the mixologists came up with for the first installment of The Art  of the Drink, and think that paying homage to the margarita — an iconic  summer beverage — is the perfect way to introduce our exciting summer  cocktail series.&#8221;</p>
<p>Mixologists Kyle Fountaine of Blackbird in Chicago, Ryan Szydlo  of OneSixtyBlue in Chicago and Greg Seider of Summit Bar in New York carefully considered the composition  of the classic margarita and used it as inspiration to produce a fresh  take on a summer favorite. The end results are perfectly balanced  drinks, enhanced by the incredibly refined and smooth taste that Patron  has become known for.</p>
<p>In addition to &#8220;The  Patron Margarita, Deconstructed,&#8221; The Art of the Drink will also include  cocktail series focusing on &#8220;Patron Green Market&#8221; drinks and &#8220;The  Patron Salt Concierge.&#8221; &#8220;Patron Green Market&#8221; will showcase cocktails  from mixologists and that bar chefs that embody the concept of slow food  and utilize ingredients found at greenmarkets during the summer season.  &#8220;The Patron Salt Concierge&#8221; will examine salt as a crucial component of  the drink experience, with cocktails designed to be a complete  exploration of salt as a flavor.</p>
<p>The Art of the Drink  will also highlight the perfect occasion for which each cocktail was  created — a suggested occasion will be offered for each creation,  whether it&#8217;s brunch, an aperitif for a summer picnic or a night on the  town. A perfect accompaniment for a broad range of occasions, Patron can  be dressed up or dressed down, as the Art of the Drink series will  showcase.</p>

<p>Avion Tequila LLC was formed by a group of entrepreneurs and beverage        industry professionals with the sole purpose of creating and  developing        a tequila that defines a new standard of quality and taste. The        announcement was made by Ken Austin, Founder and Chairman of  Tequila        Avion.</p>

<p>Ken Austin, an integral part of the executive management team at  Marquis        Jet since 2001, and currently one of the Company’s Executive Vice        Chairmen, has had a consuming passion for the beverage industry  since        early in his business career when he worked in senior management        positions at E&amp;J Gallo and The Seagram Beverage Company. Mr.  Austin has        been a tequila lover for nearly two decades, searching for the  ideal        tequila, and formed Tequila Avion with Kenny Dichter, Founder,  Chairman        and CEO of Marquis Jet and Chairman of MGX Lab.</p>
<p>Jenna Fagnan was recently appointed as President of Tequila Avion.         “Jenna is an exceptional professional with outstanding  qualifications in        the wine and spirits industry. Jenna will be instrumental to the  success        of Tequila Avion,” said Mr. Austin. Prior to joining Tequila  Avion, Ms.        Fagnan served as Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of  Sales        at TAG Heuer, a subsidiary of LVMH and prior to that was Managing        Director of Dom Pérignon USA, a subsidiary of Moët Hennessy.  Previously,        Ms. Fagnan was a Supervisor with Wieden &amp; Kennedy on the Nike  and Coca        Cola businesses, in which capacity she helped to develop brand  strategy,        create multimedia advertising campaigns and re-launch the Diet  Coke and        Coca Cola Light brands worldwide.</p>

<p>Tequila Avion forged a partnership with fifth generation agave  growers        to secure the finest Blue Weber Agave plants found in the very  highest        regions of Jalisco, Mexico, which are the most coveted for use in        tequila production, due to their rich mineral content as well as  their        distinct quality and character. Earlier this month, Tequila Avion        completed a multimillion dollar round of funding from investors,        including many notables from the worlds of arts and culture,  business,        technology, sports, lifestyle and luxury goods.</p>
<p>The formulations for Silver, Reposado and Anejo, the three Tequila  Avion        varietals are now in full production. Distributor partnerships,  launch        markets, and rollout plans are complete and will be disclosed        imminently.
